TimerFree (timerfree.xyz) is a free online countdown timer. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your data when you use the site: what runs entirely on your own device, what a privacy-friendly analytics service records in aggregate, and what an optional feedback form does and doesn't store. There is no account system, no login, and no tracking of individual visitors across sites.
The timer itself: nothing leaves your browser
Every part of the countdown timer, the duration you set, whether you press Start, Pause, or Reset, the alarm sound, and the fullscreen display, runs entirely with standard web technology inside your own browser (JavaScript's built-in clock and the Web Audio API for the alarm tone). None of that is ever sent to a server. If you close the tab or refresh the page, the current countdown is gone, because it was never stored anywhere outside your browser's memory in the first place.
What is stored locally in your browser
The only thing this site saves between visits is your light/dark theme preference, stored using your browser's localStorage, a small, standard mechanism built into every modern browser that keeps a preference on your own device only. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to any server with each page request, and it is not accessible to any other website. You can clear it at any time through your browser's own site-data or privacy settings; the theme simply resets to your system's default the next time you visit.
Cloudflare Web Analytics (aggregate, no cookies)
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic (roughly how many people visit, which pages, and which country or browser they're using), the same way almost any published website measures its own traffic. It's built specifically to avoid tracking individuals: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not build a profile tied to you personally. The data Cloudflare aggregates is used only to see overall trends, for example, whether a page is getting any visitors at all, never to identify or follow a specific person across visits or across other websites.
The feedback form
If you use the "Give feedback" link in the footer to send a short comment, the message text is sent to a small server-side function so it can be reviewed. That function does not record your email address, your IP address, or your browser's user-agent string alongside the message, only the text you actually typed. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (a privacy-respecting alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs) to filter out automated spam submissions before they reach a human; using it may briefly involve a standard, non-tracking bot-detection check from Cloudflare.
No accounts, no third-party ad trackers
There is no sign-up, no login, and no user account of any kind on this site, there is nothing to create and nothing tied to your identity to begin with. TimerFree does not run third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or social-media "share" widgets that quietly track visitors on other sites' behalf. If that ever changes, this page will be updated to say so plainly, in the same style as the rest of it.
Server logs (standard web hosting)
Like effectively every website on the internet, the infrastructure this site runs on (Cloudflare) keeps short-lived, standard technical logs of requests (such as IP address and timestamp) for security and reliability purposes, for example, detecting and blocking abusive traffic. This is a routine part of how web hosting works everywhere, is not used to build a profile of you, and is not the same thing as the aggregate analytics described above.
Your rights and how to contact us
Because this site doesn't collect personal data tied to an account, there is very little to request access to or deletion of in the first place, your theme preference lives only in your own browser, and feedback messages aren't linked to your identity. A note for visitors in the EU/UK and California
Regulations like the GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California) exist to give people control over personal data collected about them. Because this site was deliberately built to avoid collecting personal data in the first place, no accounts, no tracking cookies, no cross-site trackers, and an analytics service specifically designed not to identify individuals, there is very little for those regulations to apply to. The technical, security-focused server logs described above are the same routine logging every hosted website generates, kept only briefly and only for abuse prevention, not compiled into a profile about any individual visitor.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, for example, if a new feature is added that handles data differently, this page will be updated to reflect it, in the same plain, specific style as the rest of this document rather than vague boilerplate. There is no mailing list or notification system to subscribe to; checking back on this page is the way to see the current version.
